what color are factory white wheels or did they only come in argent? anyone know the craylon or rustoleum equivalent (or close anyway)?
i'm guessing if the wheels where white from the factory they would be same color as the grill and front bumper on my 63. i believe numberdummy posted a while back that would be corinthian white. my grill/bumper etc look more "off white" than pure white white but maybe that's due to age.
i realize i can go online and get the factory color in a rattle can but would rather just go down to the store and pick some up this weelkend and get it done the trucks is not show quality anyway.

AFAIK, Standard Cab grilles and front/rear bumpers (not step bumpers) were painted Colonial white, not Corinthian nor Wimbledon White.

Colonial White is a bright white, was also used 1951/60, while Wimbledon White is an off white also known as cream.

Colonial White was also used on the exteriors of 1950's Passenger Cars/Trucks. Corinthian White was used 1961/63, Wimbledon White beginning in 1964.

Ford confusion: Both Corinthian and Wimbledon White used the same COLOR code: M

And, there's another: Pure White used 1964/69, COLOR code C.

"Squire" Don (camperspecial65) has the rarest of the rare. His 1965 F250 Camper Special's COLOR codes are M & C - Tu-tone White!

AFAIK, wheels that were painted white were painted "body color." Dunno what color the wheels are on Don's truck, considering...

Service part replacement steel wheels were painted grey (argent) beginning in 1967. Prior to 1967 = Black. This applies to Truck/Bronco/Econoline ony, not Passenger Cars.

And, more Ford confusion. Passenger Cars used some of the same exterior colors as the trucks, but the "promotional" names and COLOR codes may be different, may not be.

did any of the slicks come out of the factory with white rims? i thought you'd posted once that 64/66 rims where wimbledon white. i'm trying to figure out if factory rim color would be white white like my flareside tailgate letters or off-white like my front bumper. they are definately two different whites.

 

Mine did...and they remained white for a coupla days after I bought it, then I painted them black.

I took the bottlecap hubcaps off, replaced them with 1952 Packard wheel covers with cloisonne center emblems (worth a ton a money today).

 

i'm think mine are going to be rustoleum refridgerator white.

Krylon gloss Ivory is close to Wimbledon White, it is still has a tad more yellow than the 'Wimbledon White' on my repainted truck.

 

That pic surely has two different color whites. The white on the wheels sure look whiter than the body.
