Save yourself a bunch of grief and just go ahead and replace all the battery and starter cables, body-block and block-frame straps, firewall strap, etc. They are over 25 years old at this point and corroded for sure. Maybe $20 or so. Break open all the connecting hardware on the alternator brackets where it mates to the block, that is the return path. High resistance in the charging system (and battery) will cause problems. Keep your battery on a low charge till things get sorted out, too.
Well battery cables have already been replaced and batter is only like 2 yrs old. But when i rev it up the battery light comes on when i rev it up and it goes away when i let off. But the volt gauge just stays where its at. Ill have to check out the wiring.

Unfortunately, the future aint what he used to be and 2 yr old batteries can be just as much of a pain as anything -- battery tech just hasn't advanced much and you can look at any battery
(most of the batteries in the US come from just two sources -----Deka (e.g NAPA) and Johnson Controls (Autozone, Walmart, Diehard, Advance Auto, Interstate, etc)
to see it's still pretty old, dated technology.........2-4 yrs of life at best
