I came home from overseas and took the time to rebuild my trans that had a bad reverse delay. Trans went back together good (it had a previous rag tag rebuild) and when I was letting it warm up, the truck shut off after getting warm. I didn't have any RPM showing, so I changed the CPS (again) and it started right up. I took it for a drive and it kept shutting down and to get it restarted, I had to put it in park, shut the key off and wait about 20 sec. It would start and repeat the whole process until I got back home. I hooked up the AE, my IPR pressure was 600 - 700psi at idle. It seemed that when the engine got warmer the cutting out was more frequent. I changed out the IPR solenoid this morning and the truck shut off after 5 min. Again when I try to start there is no RPM and my AE says there is no communication. This time she won't start at all. The fuel pump on the frame rail is working. When it shut off today it was like the key was turned off. Yesterday it would idle fine and then idle like it had a miss and shut off.

Any ideas???

No codes?
You say the fuel pump is running but is it pumping? Got a fuel pressure gauge to verify?

Did you put in a CPS from Ford or International, or an aftermarket unit?

Cam sensors can cause problems too, did you scan the truck and grab any codes. fuel pumps on the frame often lose there prime, and even though its humming its not pumping. remove the lid from your fuel filter and turn key on, if fuel over flows its pumping, not the issue, check valve cover gasket wire connectors, they go bad all the time, just giving u some ideas. give us more info and we should figure this out. The problem was the chip came loose in the PCM. I had it taped in to prevent that, but it still happened. I have it so it won't come loose again!
