Truck stalls

Any ideas on what is going on. My 2001 powerstroke will be going along and then simple die while coasting. I replaced the fuel filter and replaced both batteries but still have this problem. It does not die often, maybe every ten minutes or so and then does restart.

Thanks, Rick

CPS maybe? Will it do that in idle? Fuel pressure? I had that happen with a bad fuel pump once.

thanks

It dies at idle. I'll try replacing the CPS and see what happens. The fuel bowl seems full and I can hear the fuel pump charge when I first turn the key. I'll post if it works.

Try CPS. Too bad you don't have a pressure gauge so you know what it really is.

On my 2 cars that had bad pumps, there were 2 pumps to work with. One had an in tank and an external and the other had 2 external ones. They did whine but were low in pressure.

Welcome to FTE richardmiller. Just in case the CPS doesn't solve your problem save the old one for a spare (but you will need a new o-ring)

If you still have problems let us know and we'll help you get it fixed. The CPS is a cheap easy place to start.

Thanks for the help. Seems the CPS is doing the trick. Ten minute fix. Part was 30 bucks at the dealer.
