I have a V-10 but learned the hard way that in the Texas heat you do not let the tank go below 1/4 tank or the fuel pump burns out. It is a doable job in the driveway. I did mine with about half a tank of gas in it. Used long rubber gloves. The fuel pump behaved very hinky for about a week before it gave out. Then I had the fender wall starter solenoid flake out which was causing starting and idleing problems. The truck would just quit at lights and start again once it cooled a bit. I bring up the fuel pump since you thought the tank had been tampered with. They do crap out and pump your tank are a very easy quick repair.
