102 at the time...I see the yellow and decide I'll slow down and "take the red"...car in front of me appears to decide to try the yellow. Then suddenly the driver slams the brakes. She stops 3/4 of a car length over the line...I stop about 5' from her bumper.
...I hear the brakes of the Neon just before she hits me.
Feels to me like a bump to me...as if someone taps you in a drive through. To the Neon - not so much.
...no apparent damage to my truck. Beetlegeuse helped - a lot:
Yes, I named my hitch...so what? This was the 2nd rear-end accident that it 'saved' me from extensive body damage, so I think it's earned a name.
Just hoping that the straight shot to the hitch hasn't stressed any bolts or tweaked the frame. I don't think it has, but I'm not a frame specialist.

Reason: Just a little nudge help
I don't think there is any damage to the hitch or frame of the X. Where the damage is on the Neon there isn't anything robust enough to stress anything. All that tinfoil on the Neon absorbed any stress.
On the flipside i have seen trucks come in that need a frame because the hitch was left in and it folded the frame down and under like an accordian! There are negatives to leaving a hitch in the receiver, although you haven't had that issue.........yet!
