Hell I have been getting fuel from Kroger (grocery store chain) and that has done well for me, it is close to interstate 75 so they probably sell a lot. I usually just go where it is the cheapest. Lots of diesel pickups in my part of Ohio, I don't think there are many stations that have diesel that sit on it for an extended period of time.

Holy ****, Byron out of nowhere.

When did you come back?

Yeah, fuel that sits basically gets stale and grows stuff.
Breaks down.

Depends on how fussy your motor is.
Tractors dont usually give 2 ****s, neither do IDI's.
YOu can run 50/50 UMO/Fuel in some tractors and idi's.

i've ran 30/70 UMO/fuel highly filterd in my truck with really good fuel and a can of seafoam and got 26+ mpg.

I've only got a 500gal farm tank. It only last a month and a half over winter. I'm not to worried about the algae cause I have never seen it yet. I change the bulk tank filter about every 6 months and have never had a dirty filter or water in it. Also my newest tractor is common rail so quality is probably more important with it than some of the older ones

I see diesel fuel in a variety of tints. The last batch I got was pretty dark, which worried me, but I see no signs of water or microbes in that batch despite the color. I've kept a sample just to see what develops until I use it, since I sometimes store my fuel a year before it's consumed. So far so good.

I've got the 3.55 axle in my 96 extended cab automatic and tow at combined weight of about 15,000 pounds. At about 55-60 mph, I can usually get about 14 mpg towing a Jayco travel trailer. This truck is used exclusively for towing a trailer, and I've always gotten good mileage, relatively speaking of course.

Although I don't drive solo much, the last time I checked I got 21mpg at 70mph on the Interstate.

The fuel still works after its sat.
I wasn't saying that doesn't happen, but the fuel breaks down and looses its Uhmpf after a while of sitting.

Good additives will help fuel stay better.

Algae is more of a moisture thing.
It can happen.
There are some threads on here for it. go look at them, they are scary.

Holy Ned, I just found out, the 22.5 we got on our last tank was with the front hubs locked. Maybe I should leave 'em locked in all the time....

Fuel around here is almost always bluish-green. We do try to stick to the same station when possible; mileage does seem to depend on quality of the fuel.

Edit - also found out I've had a dragging parking brake (left side was down to metal on metal). WTF, why didn't my mileage suck?
