Ok lm putting a new wiring harness in my uni. I would like to use a different headlight switch. Is there anyone that has used a different one that they would recomend that fits in the origional hole and looks good?
Thanks,
Steven
I don't have an answer to your question, just wondering why you want to use a different one? You can get one for your truck and they are fairly inexpensive.
Im out on the road and cannt actually look at my truck. Doesnt the factory switch have fuses in it? Im just trying to upgrade it as l put it togeather. Maybe lm just over thinking it as usual?

I have seen some pictures of the headlight switch connector having fuses but honestly don't remember what my connector looked like. I do know that with the old harness off that the headlight switch just has spade terminals to plug your wires.
1961 F100/750 & 1962/64 F100/600: The fuse panel (junction block) plugs into the headlamp switch. 1961's use a different switch than 1962/64's. See parts catalog pic for 1964 example.
1965/66 F100/600's use a different headlamp switch, have a separate fuse panel located on the inside of the firewall adjacent to the steering column.

I was fairly certain that my 65 did not have fuses on it and thought I had seen some with fuses. I did not realize that the attached fuses was the fuse panel.. they've gotten a little bigger! haha
okiewelder didn't say what year he was working on.

OP didn't need to say what year...says he's putting a new wiring harness in his Uni .. which would be a 1961/63 F100/250 2WD

LOL, for us non-observant folk he did!! haha
I am not as well versed, I barely know enough to be dangerous about my 65! Although, I am picking up bits and pieces by those like you ND and others that know the ins and outs.
