I have a 94 F-150 4WD w/ 150k miles. It started missing at highway speeds when going up a hill or passing but would stop missing at WOT. I changed the plugs and wires, coil, PCV valve, and fuel filter (these were all the original ones from the factory). It still has the same problem, no codes on the computer. Any ideas?
I have a 96 F-150 with the 5.0 and 180,000 miles and have the same problem. I hope someone has some ideas, I hate to drive it on the highway until I get the problem fixed.
This problem just appeared on my truck (1989 f150 2wd). After talking with a few people I replaced my fuel filter - problem still there. The truck has 155,000 miles and I have recently replaced the cap, rotor, coil and plugs. Next I checked to make sure I had proper fuel pressure. I did. So I replaced the plug wires next and at the same time used a can of injector cleaner. I mechanic my dad knows says this is a problem with mid 90s ford cars, and to fix the problem just put a can or two of injector cleaner in the tank a run the vehicle for about 5 miles at a high rpm on the highway. I ran mine in second at about sixty. Presto - problem fixed.
