1965 Headlight switch wiring

I have been searching for wiring info on the headlight switch didn't find much so I thought I'd post a pic of mine and some of the info that I did find.

1965 Headlight switch

A = This is connected to B (some said it is for a Brake switch)
B = Battery +
P = Parking lights (front park lights)
R = Running lights (rear running/park lights)
H = Headlight
I = Instrument lights (via reostat(dimmer))
D1 = These two are connected only when the **** is twisted
D2 = fully CCW (turns on dome light)

I am installing a 21 circuit E-Z Wiring Harness, so these below are what I believe will be the correct colors. Use these at your own risk, as I have not tested this yet.

B = Headlight power (Red/Black)
P = (this does not have power when **** is pulled out to Headlight) These are for some years that the front park lights would go off when the Headlights are on.
R = LF & LR Park (Brown)
H = LtBlue Dimmer Power? (color from dimmer switch)
I = Instru PNL LGT (Brown)
D1 = Dome wire from fuse block
D2 = Wire to dome light

My understanding is that the D1 and D2 is essentially the same as a door dome light switch. When any of the three (driver's / passenger / Headlight **** CCW) are closed, it makes contact and dome light comes on.

Ignition wiring - EZ Wiring harness

Now I'm on to the ignition switch.
Anyone have a schematic of the ignition switch and how this thing works?

I've used a multimeter on it but I cannot get my mind wrapped around it.

This is what is in the EZ Wiring manual.

The wires coming from my ignition switch are as follows.
Yellow = ACC
Red w/green = ON
Red w/blue?(black connector)

The back of my switch looks like this.

My questions are:
What goes on the center post? SW?
Yellow wire seems to be ACC
Top post in picture seems to be "ON" or Run
Left post must be "start"
It appears that top post and center has continuity when in ON position.
When I switch to the "start" position the top and left have continuity but not with the center post.

I had assumed (yes I know) that the center post was battery power but in "start" it wouldn't have any power.

Is there someone here that can set me straight?

I've probably missed some other tidbit of info that is needed.

I have never heard of the Rebel harness. It looks like you got an extra $45 worth of pictures but the wiring still didn't make sense after looking at Rebel diagrams. Only slightly clearer.

This under dash stuff sucks! just sayin'
I think I have the headlight switch wired correctly, but need to double check the tail section.
The gauges seem straight forward, I'm just waiting to get the ignition completed before hooking up the gauges.

Then, what to do with all the extra wiring... haha I bought the 21 circuit harness so I can install power windows/doorlocks later and maybe have some extra circuits for my amateur radio gear...

Terry

P.S. I cannot imagine that the switches would be THAT different... but then again...

I don't know what colors I had that went to the center stud, but the original harness has a yellow, RED/green stripe, and RED/blue or black stripe. It looks like a blue stripe but the green one has a green bullet connector and the "blue" one has a black bullet connector, which I know mean absolutely nothing... or do they? haha *twilight zone music*

I did receive a bunch of schematics from another member for all of the 64 models.
When I figure out exactly what is required, I will post that info here.

Hello
I’m using EZ wiring 21 circuit trying to install the headlight switch same as above picture, when I got the above switch which is not original for my 59 F100 found out that A and D1 connected together. Don’t know why, have you tested the switch according to your wiring.
thanks
Ahmad
