Virginia titling old trucks
#3
Unless you have the original rivets in the serial number plate the State Police will probably have to inspect the hidden serial number which is on top of the right frame rail if you have a '48-'52 fat fender. (suggest that you enter model and year info in you signature . . . click on USERCP pulldown at top left). They are very hard to see in most cases and may take some careful cleaning. A hi-res camera and indirect lighting help. Then some of the image enhancement tools like emboss in Photoshop will sometimes bring out unseen areas.

I am having to delay getting a monkey face
The truck i looked at has no title and every piece needs repair. That includes both sides grill and roof. I still would of got it had it had the title. I am trying now to get one but i have 2 projects going now so if i can walk from this one with no title.

I had major issues with VA. trying to get a title for my truck, I even filled out the paperwork they requested, sent the check and waited, and waited, only to get all the paperwork back (less the check) with a note asking for the original owners signature. problem is, the owner was deceased along with his spouse . Short story is that I needed to obtain a title to go to the DMV who then gladly titled it in VA. I would pass, or at the very least not spend any money until you get the title squared away.

Wow! Lots of work. If the price is right you might get it for parts if you have room to store it.
