1st post picture # 6 shows my table saw/pipe clamp/wood set up.
So you are clamping a piece of 2x4 over the metal and to the table saw and then bending it? Are you hammering the bend or using something else to make the edges clean?

It depends on how sharp of an angle I want. On this last piece, I wanted the bends to be more rounded to match the dash better so I kept my hammer away from the corners. If I want a nice sharp 90, I will clamp the piece directly to the table top edge and hammer it nice and flat all the way to the corners.
Made some speaker boxes to go with the new radio. They will fit right under each side of the seat. I mixed a little old school desert camo (mine) and new school desert camo (my son's). Probably a waste since they will be tucked under the seat for the most part. They are 5 1/4" and 3 1/4" Kenwoods that I took out of my son's car after it was totaled.
Speakers Version 1.0 was a no go. They fit under the seat, but any little bump and I bottomed out on the speaker box. Same thing if I put them behind the seat. They would fit, but the cushioning was gone.
So here is Version 2.0
I slide the seat all of the way forward and slip everything under. I have velcro holding it down to the metal floor, and I figure that when I get the carpet in, the velcro will still be used since it is on the contours of the floor.
The last thing I need to do is put a fuse in line on the yellow power wire.
I pulled the system out of my son's car after he got T-boned. 2 years later, when I fire it up, his CD starts cranking. I think that he is going to like tunes in the truck. It took me a little bit to get this new fangled gizmo adjusted just right. I didn't get the bass figured out in the video, but I will not need a sub in here.
Sounds good and looks good. I'd be so tempted to make the boxes white, though. There is just something about clean white that seems like you can never have too much. Great pics and video. Thanks for showing us.
So I called the wife down to check out my work and gave her my best Bat Man impression. I was just going to spray it flat black, but I figure I have the opportunity to do something different with it. I'm just not sure what that something is yet.
