This might be it. I apologize in advance if you are tired of the new guy offering nothing valuable and wasting your time mooching off of your knowledge. I found a '59 on CL that looks pretty good. Not original but I'm okay with the tank mod and door poppers.

http://reading.craigslist.org/cto/4512256671.html

He also has the bumpers and door handles.

Knowing the truck needs a paint job, is $5K close to the money on this rust free truck, with a straight body and good mechanicals? Thanks again!

Also, if there are any members in south jersey who could recommend someone for a paint job, that would be a huge help. Not looking for a show quality job.

says front end redone, is it original straight axle or IFS swap?

I think closer to $4000-$4500-but I am a cheap ***

I paid $4000 for my truck and I thought it was fair for both parties

The front end is original but was sent away and redone. He says he has a high offer of $4500 from a guy in Wisconsin.

It looks close to the same condition as mine, & I would like to think mine is worth $5k. However, that engine does not look like a fresh rebuild. Find out how many miles are on it.

Everything he's done I would do if I owned the truck, so I would pony up the $5,000. Not a whole lot more though.

Okay, so I'm about to go from annoying noob asking questions about potential cars to annoying noob OWNER asking questions about identifying parts, diagnosing problems, etc...

She's coming home sometime in the next week or so!

Thanks for all of the commentary and advice so far. I appreciate it.

Dang, the post has been deleted so I can't go back and see if I changed my mind. We expect lots of pictures when you get her home.
