Got my truck back fromthe shop with a new door skin. It looks great. Now I will have to check a few wreckers to get a molding for the bottom. They could not find a new piece and they straighten the old one. Not the best job. Besides I new a left rear molding also on the box.
Sadly nice shining new door and the rest of the truck faded or peeling paint and some rust starting come through in places. It makes me for next year say git r done and repir the rust and the peeled paint and get the whole truck looking good again.
Will take pic of door and post in gallery later.
I think ya need to give us a display of the bodywork and paint from the pro! I know it takes a little time and costs a few bucks, but I think you would be pleased as punch driving er in the end!
I got pics in gallery now.
Found a problem with door. It does not close as nice as it did before. I see the linement is out. So they did not line the door back up properly with body lines and this affects the door catches. The front of door is down by an 1/8 of an inch. Easily missed when excited about getting it back. Tomorrow or next I will reset door. If not it will wear the catches out and the striker bolt. The door should just close nicely with very little effort.
It is a minor thing that I can fix. The other is they miss the dent on the rocker panel. Actually SGI did on the claim so it was not done. I'm not too worried tho. I want to get the rest of the truck done next year so this will be addressed then.
I don't really care for the grey, but seeing it after it has been painted it does look good. I want to change that area to a light crystal blue that ford had painted some trucks and cars that color. I think it would stand out more the colors of blues.
