Dying in reverse and bucking, both intermittent...

So ever since I bought the truck a few months ago it will occasionally die when I put it in reverse and still have my foot on the brake. Also more recently its started to buck (or make kind of a sputtering feeling). I don't think its engine related as it doesn't seem to affect my tach and it only seems to do it when accelerating in the higher gears but doesn't seem to do it in 1st or 2nd. I thought I had read somewhere that the dying in reverse was a trans issue, could that be causing the bucking too? About 2 weeks ago I put a bottle of trans tune in the trans to see if it would help with the dying issue, it seemed to happen less often after that. could the trans tune have loosened up some gunk that is now clogging up the trans? Its only been bucking for about the last week or so.

Also the truck also seems to have an intermittent misfire. I've replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil and fuel filter.

Do a trans. service and see if that takes it away. Do you have any vibrations when driving? How does your carrier bearing look if it shot it may be causing binding in reverse.

I do have vibration when driving but I have at least one bad tire so I'm pretty sure that's what's causing the vibration. Yeah I think I'll start with a filter and fluid change. I will take a look at the carrier bearing to. Thanks for the advice!

Read a post the other night that said that it may be the egr, so I disconnected and plugged the vacuum to the egr. It seems to run a lot better but still started to buck in the higher gears so I bought a reman trans shift solenoid off ebay. hopefully between that, new fluid and a new filter the issue will be solved.
