superduty trans help!!!
hello everyone heres the story i just changed out the motor in my 99 sd250 before the swap i had no trans issues now it doesnt always go into reverse and overdrive i tried a fluid and filter change and nothing. when i first start it it goes into reverse and shifts great when it gets warmed up it starts acting funny there is no slipping in any gears or popping out any ideas? someone said it might be low on fluid? i was told it took 6.5 on a filter change.

It doesn't matter what you were told, what matters is how much is in it now. Just changing the filter will take anywhere from 6-9 quarts. It varies quite a bit trans to trans. You could be low, the dipstick is the only way to know.
