I have a 2000 Ford Ranger V6 4.0L engine. It has the distributerless ignition so it is a little more difficult to install, from my point of view. I would just like to know what color and where the wire would be coming from the PCM to hook up the tach. Also many of the sites and books that i look at the wire is the tan/yellow wire. I searched for it and found it and it is connected to the radio. What do i look for?

Thanx for the info about he tan/yel wire. I looked at some wiring diagrams at my local library and found what the other tan/yel wire went to and what its purpose is. But I want to know if there is a way that i could find the tachometer wire without tearing apart my dashboard.
You should have that big wire cluster that runs out of the firewall into the engine compartment. Cut some of the tape off (Careful!) and it'll be hiding in there.
Thanx guys, i got my tach hooked up fine but now my only question is that white wire for the lighting. I dont want to tear apart my dash to find the wire. Is there a way that i can tap into it w/o doing any damage..lol
