I went to buy them off Craigslist thinking they were 16.5, yes I was shocked to see they were 15". I had to get them, even though they will not fit anything I have (77-79 4wd F250 with duel piston front brake calipers)...
I did not mean to HJ your thread Erik, I just wanted to show that there are some odd rims out there.

No worries, it's not my thread, eaglechief resurrected this one from the dead lol
Anyone ever seen some Shelby Cal 500 8 lug slotted mags that are 15 x 7 and 15 x 8.5....YES I said 8 lug and 15" anyone? Probably go on a 2wd?
Grandpa had those exact wheels on his '75 HiBoy with D44 drums up front. After he replaced the the D44 with a D60 disc brakes from a '79 he had to run 16.5" wheels. Nice find, though. I would call them rare.
I am pretty sure they are asking $900 to 1K for the aluminium spokes below? I think I called and asked them along time ago when I was going to sale mine.
I sold mine to a FTE member quite a while back. And no I did not get no where near $900 or 1K for them. I wish I would of not sold them, that is for sure.
I almost want to contact the St Louis guy and get those. Odd that one has a different a different off set. And if that are for real 16.5's... 16" tires WILL NOT fit on them.

I don't find the offset weird at all.
I had a set of spoke (5 bolt pattern) steelies on my 2WD truck I started rebuilding then sold. They had a different offset because the tires in the front and the tires in the rear would line up perfectly with the body lines.
When you looked under the truck, I believe the tires were offset and did not track perfectly on each other (front to back). However... the box wheel well (exterior face) to the tire and the front fender (exterior face) to the tire looked uniform.
Hard to explain... but it made the truck look better. If you look at photos of Dentsides with stock rims/tires, the rear tires look "sunk" into the box wheel well. The different offset eliminates that.
I can't recall which offset went where, but it's pretty easy to figure out lol.
Thinking about the link I posted on the aluminum spokes. 1 wheel has more offset. Think about this on a highboy it seems like when you put taller tires on they rub on the steering valve thing on the drivers side when turning right hard. Maybe put the wider wheel on that corner would help?
So weird thing happened yesterday. I mounted all of the rims rich gave me and crazy one rim didn't have clearance issues... but boy is it too close for comfort. I suppose you could shave the steering knuckle to fit but I just don't like the idea of that. Here's a video to show the differences. 1 clip is the rims not clearing, 2 and 3 clips is the one odd ball rim that clears and 4 clip is the 18 spokes clearing with no issue.
