gear position indicator
Where is the connection between the shifter and the needle?
On a side not, the passenger side of my dash moved creeks and it ill move up and down about an inch. I took out the glove box to find the mount bolts, but had no luck. Anyone have an idea where it is located?

be mindful it's easy to break the shift tube and straps because of a failing shift cable.....i learned this the hard way on chip truck and was recently very gentle discovering logs trucks shift cable had bit the dust lol.

The white plastic clip under the sterring column is broken from the mount. I used two wire ties to mount it in the general position it wa in originally and wire tied it in place

hmmm.so do you mean those break off like up around one (or both) of the screw mount holes?
im unaware of replacements,but if one side breaks off,i understand how a wire tie or hose clamp could be just as good of a fix.
hmmm.this makes one wonder why this broke then.while in there,did you guys notice any binding or chafing of the small cord that moves the needle or anything or think it's just age related fatigue?
well this ones all black;

Mine broke on the angle (in the pictue just below the mount screw). I drilled a hole in the flat part of the broken bracket and passed the wire tie through it to mount it in its proper position.
i was wrong i see however when i linked to that bottom part.i linked to a new one for newer trucks.doorman must make this as well though hopefully for those who would like to replace it.
edit,well i dunno about the plastic that holds just the wheel yet,but here looks like the whole assembly;
