Shifter not right
Hi Everyone
On my 2000 F150 V6 ,the gear shifter is setting to the right
of the gear you put the truck in.
The truck gear shifter just is not right to me.
Wife drives the truck most of the time.
Should I take it in to the ford house?

If it is just the indicator being off there is a little wheel in the column that you can adjust that tab back and forth with, if the whole linkage isn't shifting into the right gear properly it will get worse and you will lose P and/or the low end gears. I had that happen and had to have the dealer realign and tighten it, there were just too many joints and they all appeared fine but the whole thing had loosened up.

On the cars there are two Torx bolts that hold a shift lever at the bottom of the column that loosen up and cause what you are describing. The trucks are assembled similarly. You might look under the dash and see if those are tight.
