I had about 8 hours in my 03 total wrenchtime/Diagnostic but intake manifold must come out for 03

Plus when I rush I tend to get the cart before the horse

Id bet Mike and Anthony have it down to a couple Hours But they do on regular basis

He's got 200k plus on it. I checked it out and no issues but he want's to do some stuff if he doesn't sell it. If he does he's going to tell the person to have it done--of course I know that guy too so will be helping either way

I'd take a full weekend then just to be safe. Kinda like my oil change--you never really know what you're getting into until you pull it apart

How quickly do the '03 HPOPs go bad? Could the truck be running fine one day and then puke out the next day because of a failed HPOP?

Yes the early HPOPs can either go gradual where it's noticed under full load or WOT.

Or noticed with longer hot starts.

Or just be fine one moment and the next you're coasting to the side of the highway.

Oh yippee...Monster was running really well, better than the day I bought her, except I couldn't keep her oil under 230°. So I installed the BPD kit Friday, then last night I went to test drive her and all she want to do is sputter and buck. At idle she sounds and feels like she has a huge cam in her...just loping up and down.

The pump went out a few weeks ago on my 04, I had no power over 2500 RPMs but if I drove like an old man I couldn't tell anything was wrong. I drove it nearly 500 miles like that.

Then one day at a stop light my truck was like "f*** you!" and it completely died.

I was at 198,000 miles and my mechanic said it was either original or at least nearly original. Engine looked like it hadn't been touched in a while.

I think I'm leaning towards my issue being a plugged IPR since she barely runs at idle but runs great at WOT.

but I'm thinking that drivability and MPG may suffer if I resort to only driving at WOT or being stopped...

Just for the record, when my HPOP blew, it also screwed up my IPR and ruined my LPOP from the metal that went through the engine. It was giving a whole lot of mixed signals about what was wrong.

Yikes...that's not what I want to hear...it sounds like you had more going on than just a blown HPOP.
