How's your back feeling today? My knee/ACL is hurting today with this cold weather. Wish I could afford to have an Epidural. Love those things!

Morning everyone. I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far.
I went to the local pick a part yesterday and found a hood trim and side emblems for the truck. It had a nice grill but the bolts started spinning and I didn't have anything to cut them off with. I also grabbed the brake light bezel and spring for the hole in the lower left dash. The lens is pushed in but is still somewhat there. I was mainly just wanting to fill the hole so I am not too concerned with the lens. The guy I am working on his honda paid for the parts so it was a good day. Now I am back to trying to save for a new compressor since mine bit the big one.

So we got project #3 from a friend who just wanted the motor. The Mr. wants to make a rat rod out of it, it has quite a bit of rust and he's really not up for a full restoration. I think he's planning to put one of his race car motors in it.

Michelle I love the Rat Rod scene. They have a huge show in Havasu on Valentines Day. It draws a few thousand cars. It is with the Rock A Billy scene. It brings a lot of the low riders out of everywhere, with all the lovely Pin-up Girls & live Bands. NO TRAILER QUEENS. Everyone drives their cars.
The first show here was last Fall at the Avi Casino. Everyone there said that this years should bring maybe 500+ cars. Tons of Rat Rods, Low Riders, & you name it. The atmosphere is very friendly & welcoming. The Pin-up Girls along with their husbands & boyfriends are always willing to stop & let you take pictures of them. The husbands will take a picture of you with them. It is such a Kool event.
I have never been to a car show that was this much fun. A couple of the Low Rider Clubs out of Los Angeles brought some really nice cars & trucks.
Have fun building a Rat Rod. I built one of the first in Nevada in 1966. It was my High School Auto Shop Project. It was a 56 Ford frame 50 Ford Flathead set back 17" with a 37 Ford cab & a home made short bed. I forget what the fenders came off of. It was titled & licensed in Nevada, & I drove it for a few years. I wish I had pictures of it but in those days we were kids & pictures were not on our list. I don't know if my shop teacher ever took any, if he did they are somewhere with his kids.
