Wow with just shy of 20 years in the fire service myself this is something I really hate to see. We have seen a couple of close calls, and have been fortunate to have never had an incident like this.

God speed for her recovery.

Be safe out there brothers and sisters, it's a tough job, but tougher when it's your own.

Again, thank you. She had one round of surgery today but was unable to repair everything due to massive amounts of swelling in the right knee and thigh. She will have another surgery in a few days to repair the lower leg apart of the knee. The plates put in the femur today will have to be removed in about 9 months. The wrist turned out to be the worst fracture. Basically, the radius and ulna bones of the right wrist came through the palm of her hand. It was repaired the best that could be done but she will have limited movement to the right wrist. The surgeon said that it would still have enough movement for her to be a medic. Recovery time for now is 9-10 months until the femur plates have to be removed. Then another surgery then. Again, thank you for all of the prayers and I did tell her and her mom that the FTE sends their best. Her mom said, "I wonder how they knew!" She said it very sarcastically!! LOL
