tranny quit ?
Okay my e4od quit in my f350.I had a no drive condition the truck would not move in any gear.I took the tranny out and completely dissassembled and cleaned everything in preperation for a rebuild.to my suprise there is no hard part damage to be found nor are clutches or steels burnt.why did the tranny quit?I am looking to find out why and what the culprit could be so that I can get it rebuilt right

The ONLY way the trans could do that is if something mechanical broke. Either you haven't found what broke or it's something outside the trans. It could be the rear axle, or if it is a 4x4 it could be the transfer case.

The only way the valve body could be the problem is if the manual valve was disconnected from the linkage. But you would have seen that taking the trans out, or tearing it down.
