Reading this thread because I'm looking at a 71 F100. Owner says it has a 351, but that's not listed as a 71 option. I don't know if its a 302 or a later 351 that's been put in place.
Plus I've been in machining for about 40 years, the last 25 running CNC lathes (mostly Swiss type) and/or milling centers. Not rich, but never hungry.

Who knows what engine it could have. I'd verify it after all these years these trucks go through some interesting changes from previous owners sometimes. It could be a fe series engine to. What kind of parts do you run on the CNC's? I know my way inside and out of them to.
Just put hooker competition on a 2 wheel drive 352. Holy crap, what a pain! And the starter!!! Oh, my aching back! Finally got it, and they work just fine. My advice, get a mini ahead of time, and don't waste a lot of time, like I did, and make the big starter fit.
"I'll take a 300,000 mile FE over a 350 eight days a week..."
For being so popular over the years my experience with hookers are they're cheap and take a beating daily to fit in

Medical implants. Starting with middle ear implants, working up to bone screws, now I make plastic liners for knee implants. ENT division was very technical. Now I run a Mori Seiki mill and some very dumbed down RoboDrills.

I can spot an FE or Cleveland. But I don't know how to readily tell a 302 from a 351. Or even a 351M.
I'd like to see how the medical field of CNC is. I bet there is a lot of quality control and clean work environments involved. I'm in the industry side of CNC do all the maintenance on them. Plenty of mori's toyoda's haas doosans and many others I've been inside out of.
That truck in the ad is mix n matched engine isn't right and it's sporting a 1970 grille and what else I wonder?
the louvers in the side of the hood made me giggle.
There seem to be a lot of bolt on shiny things that don't belong. Would need more picks to know if it even worth the asking price.

Lots of QC. Plus production management that thinks we ought to run perfect quality while running 6 machines.
I didn't notice the grill. What looks like a sunroof is missing primer. I would definitely take off most of the add-ons. Might not even go look at it.
I thought the same about the roof. In a text he said he was priming it (probably out of a spray can) and he just missed that section. I wonder if the VIN will tell me if it is a late 70 model?
