I have a 1962 4x4 F-100 with a 390 and a 4 speed that i put in there this summer. They were both out of a 71 4x4 F-100 . I want to get headers and want to know which ones will fit. I imagine none of them are going to fit like a glove, but nothing on this pickup has gone on there without some sort of modification . I have found these headers that have potential. Hedman : 500-89120 4WD 3/4-Ton Pickup 1965-76,352-390 ci.,1-3/4'' Tubes 3'' Collector $150. Hedman: 500-89180 4WD 1/2 ton P/U 1969-77,352-390ci.,1-3/4'' Tubes, 3'' Collector $180. Dynomax: 289-85066 Standard Headers for 352-428ci Trucks,1/2 Ton Truck 4WD 1965-76, 3/4 Ton Truck 4WD 1967-76 $130. The part numbers are from jegs. Those are basically it. I was wondering which one would fit the best with my pickup. I plan on running dual 3'' exhaust. I have been leaning towards the Hedman 89120's. If anybody has any experience, id appreciate it you'd share it.
I have headers on my 66 F100 4x4, they are Cyclone Headers, I don't think they are around anymore, but I have herd good thing about the Hedman. I think that the frames for the 65 on up should be the same as your 62, they list them like that because the FE engines did not come in the 64 on back trucks.
Thanks Bertha, I had also put a post in the 61-66 forum, and you son told me to talk to you. I think im gonna go ahead and get the 89120's, and will let you guys know how it goes putting them in (when i get it done).
The Cyclones were cheap headers at the time I put them in, I think I payed $29.95 for them. The passenger side came in 3 pieces to go around the engine mount, spent all day putting that side on. They now have been on for about 25 years and never have come loose, or leaked.
