I wouldn't recommend rebuilding it yourself unless you have a press and the know how. Rebuilt pumps from the autoparts stores or Ebay aren't that expensive and will save you the headaches.
If this engine had been sitting, it may have been leaking before but with no action it dried up in that area. Now you have fresh stuff in there it found it's way out. At any rate, good to find now tan later. I got a water pump from NAPA the was fine.
I don't recall if any of the bolt holes go into the water jacket, if yes, then sealer would be good. If they are blind holes a little anti-seize would be better.

One on the drivers side apparently did, as when I removed it, antifreeze poured out. I stuck a nail into each hole, they were blind ones
Well, reman pump is on, and it does not leak now, But I made a boo-boo. Like a moron I put the fan spacer on the wrong side of the pulley, see pic Whooooooooooooops!
