Who do you use for truck? I just got off phone with Hag..... and they wont insure my truck for any more than 12k. I wanted to up it since the 3 k in motor work to protect what I got in it but they say these truck are only worth 15k in show paint and body condition. So I gotta put a 10k paint job to make it worth 15k? I got a quote coming from Gru.... tomorrow. What is everyone else doing to protect their baby?
I just called my insurance (Progressive) and they wanted another $488 every 6 months to insure at $10k. I only pay $140 every 6 months now...not sure if I am an idiot for not covering, or just a tight *** German.
I added mine to my regular Geico policy. It's more expensive with only liability coverage than my Acura is with full coverage. Unfortunately, I can't get an agreed-value policy as I don't store it in a locked garage. In NJ, this is the best I can do thus far.
I can't wait to get out of Jersey.

Reason: Spelling and rank on Jersey some more.
I had my 79 F150 and 68 Galaxie with Hagerty, They screwed up the insurance card listing a 78 F150. Had it corrected they wanted $40 for their screw-up. Wouldn't pay it, lots of discussion. In the end they would not renew the policy. I checked with JC Taylor once, they wouldn't insure unless "restored" what's wrong with "original"? The Best Classic Car Insurance Companies - CarsDirect
LOL I just got a call from Hag... and the girl was very nice and said that she was a higher level than the call center operator I talked to yesterday and after further review they will insure my truck for 15k. She did some research and looked at pictures again and feels my truck is worth that number in the condition it is in. Yeah!!!
Ya!
dunnoo whats up with Hag.. they recently took over a program we have up here called silver wheels for originals and custom wheels for rods & customs.
All of a sudden they're advertising that if you insure with them you no longer need an appraisal on your vehicle.....This sounds mighty suspect to me, AND you can guarantee
that this being an insurance company that this is only for THEIR benefit & not yours if you have a total loss type claim. I think that I`ll stay away from them and continue with a company that requires an appraisal every 5 years, At least I know my trucks are covered to an AGREED value... not what THEY tell me what they are worth. it`s worth the cost of the appraisal every 5 years which averages about $125 per truck, so $25 a year for piece of mind.

I use State Farm and insure my 58 F100 under their Classic Vehicle insurance. I took pictures and sent them to my agent who forwarded them to an appraiser. Did the same with my 65 Fairlane. Full coverage on both for a damn good price.
I am a bit different than most here, as the ones I have insured are over 10,000 lb GVW and classed as commercial. For one I have I spend a bit over $300 a year for a commercial policy from State Farm. Liability, collision and comprehensive included (being an old fart helps).
