Thumping from front end
At work I used a new F250, 4x2 and there was no such noise.
Very smooth ride.
No one else has this noise, but me.
Cab still leans, front end not even close to calling itself Off-Road, and the CD player failed.
Dealer is trying to take me for a ride.
Like I said earlier.
If they mean being in the shop is off road, then I guess they're right.
It's Off road alright!
I though my 1993 Siverado was a problem child.
Ford's 4x4 front end is a failure. Check them out.
Ford tough? Yeah, my tough luck!
About 7,000 miles ago, I had my tires rotated at Just Tires in Arcadia, CA.
It's part of a plan, where they balance and rotate them for the life of the tires. Not bad for $30.00 bucks.
Well, on the last rotation, they must've bent my transfer case skid plate, because, there was yellow paint on the scratch marks and dents.
My dealer and Just Tires were the only ones to ever lift this truck, so it must've been one of the two.
I checked the dealer and they had RED lifts.
Just Tires had YELLOW lifts.
I detected the markings when I last changed the oil and was looking into what could be casuing the noises.
I looked with a fine tooth comb.
I was going to go buy a new skid plate from the dealer anyways, so I removed it before I left for the dealer.
All the way I heard NO NOISE!
On the way back, NO NOIOSE!
The dealer had red lifts, so that left only one culprit...Just Tires.
The transfer case and drive shaft were banging on the skid plate when I would go over bumps becasue they were so close together. Somebody tried to lift my truck via the skid plate!!
All this time I thought it was the front end.
I have photos for those who might be having the same problem.
Monday, the manger of Just Tires is back and I will talk to him about the $78.00 ther plate cost me.
