Bessie's first job

After sitting for a long winter my ole Bessie finally got back to work on the farm after 25 years of neglect and a 2 year restoration project. My neighbor asked for some hay mulch for his garden so we loaded her up and took it over. There were only a couple mishaps on her first job. The first was when she was dumping the engine started to wheeze and cough and died. I popped the hood and the glass float bowl on the carb was empty. OUT OF GAS ! Very embarasing. The gas gauge read over 1/4 full so now I know it didn't get set right. I just got to learn where empty is on it now. The second mishap was on the dump. I popped off the safety spring when it was fully raised. Again I didn't get it adjusted right. Other than that Bessie did a great job. Looking forward to a summer of fun with her.

All that stuff always seems to happen when there is an audience. Glad you got it all going smoothly again. The bigger trucks still like to work, but it can feel like fun to us after all the work it takes to bring one back to life. Congratulations on a great job.
