I did research about the code here on the forum. States it's a band failure and you would have no overdrive or 2nd. I don't have any overdrive but I do have 2nd gear so I'm assuming the band is still intact. What else should I look at? Car is a 97 Explorer 4.0 SOHC with 157,000 miles. My inspection/emissions test is due next month and after resetting computer and driving with overdrive off, I keep getting the check engine light coming on in about 40 miles. Also, the overdrive light does not flash at all.
