hey, i have a 96 f150 with the e4od tranny. some times my overdrive works sometimes it dosnt, with overdrive on if i push the OD off button on the shifter nothing happens no OD OFF light and the overdrive stays on.
besides the overdrive thing the tranny seems ok, shifts through all other gears fine, shifts into overdrive fine when its wants to. im thinking this is some kind of computer problem.
during a recent mostly highway trip it didnt shift into overdrive when i was on the interstate, i drove maybe 20 miles before it sliped in.
like i said before i have no control over the overdrive, the button on the shifter has quit working.
if anyone can give any advice that would be great.
When you crank it. It usually takes a sec and if there is any codes it should flash them twice I believe. They will be 3 digit codes. Flash. Flash. short pause, Flash, Flash, Flash Short pause Flash, Flash, Flash. That would be code 233. The pause is very short. Hope this helps ask any more questions if you got em.
