Replacement shocks
I'm new to the forum and have found it very helpful, I have a 07 f250 6.0l diesel fx4 and I need to get new shocks but don't know what kind to get any tips, and I don't like the rancho shocks on it

I suggest Bilstein 5100's over the Ranchos, a buddy had a similar problem on his '07 F350. He had the stock Ranchos and I got him to try he Bilstein 5100s after riding in my truck. His truck has a nice firm ride now...

Bilstein does make great shocks, I have used them on other trucks in the past, that is true.
Mikenski your 07 shocks are a bit different than my 03 ones, but here is some perspective. A set of Bilsteins on e-shocks.com looks like about $300 plus shipping. A set of stock replacement Ranchos on summitracing.com is about half that after a mail in rebate of $50 (like getting one shock for free).
And more perspective, I have had to replace ranchos before where the piston was completely seized in the shock. I have NEVER heard anyone say "I don't really like these new Bilsteins..."

I have the bilstiens and love them. Food for thought the stock rancho are built for ford and not a off the shelf rancho shock. So pretty much any rancho shock is a upgrade. I bought the bilstiens because at the time it was the 5100's or the rancho 9000's. The bilstiens were avalible and cheaper.

Yeah I think I'm going with the bilstein, my truck doesn't go off road, it's a 3/4ton grocery getter, but love messing with cars on the street with the diesel thinking that they are slow trucks and I make them earn a light to light race

The ranchos that came with SuperDuties are not true ranchos, just branded as such.
I have run RS5000 (on my tundra) I got a sponsorship for some 7000MTs for my F250, and now I have RS9000s on my F250. All sets have been great, and exactly what I expected from the product. I love the 9000s.
