I have a 96 psd and the temp never gets over N in normal. Also changed coolant when I replaced the thermostat And now the coolant changed from purple pre charge to a gray color? Any ideas why this happend??

The first thing that comes to mind on the grey colored coolant, is oil mixing in the coolant. Can you see any oil residue in the coolant resivor? The oil cooler might have crapped out on you, mixing oil into the coolant.

It could be, but the oil runs at more pressure than the coolant, so it will push the oil into the coolant. After the truck has set for 10-12 hrs.,you could unscrew the drain plug untill it is about ready fo fall out. If you have water in the oil, it will run out around the threads.
