quick distributor HELP

I need to know what each of the three wires on a 78 460 dist go to. I'm pulling the Mallory and putting in stock, mallory has:

Brown - Ground
Red - 12v
Green - from brain box

which goes where on the STOCK dist?

Please hurry, stuck in town doing this.

BLACK coming from the distributor is ground. The ORANGE and PURPLE wires coming from the distributor are each side of a variable reluctance sensor which serves as the trigger. All three of these wires go to the 4-terminal connector of the factory ignition module.

Your question as it relates to the aftermarket setup is not clear.

Sorry. the stock ignition was all removed and mallory dist/box/coil installed. dist has given me enough trouble and died again, so I was taking it out to reinstall a factory. I did not have factory wires to go by, so I was going to use the wires running to the Mallory dist.

All good now, swapping in a factory harness as soon as I'm done typing.

Sounds good. After you get your truck back together, you'll have to take it to go and get some of that cherry mash you St. Joe folks love

I'm burnt out on cherry mash, once in a while I'll grab one.

I may take my truck to a mudrun in Union Star on monday though.

I can't eat that stuff anymore; it's too icky sweet for me. But I do have good memories growing up and getting it every year going through the Christmas light show in Krug Park.
