installed a gasket set from walker,on my motorcraft 1940 carb. came apart easy and so did the rebuild.my question is.....what does the check ball and brass weight do? ive watched the carb video mikes carb has on youtube. i dont remember him explaining in detail the check ball and weights duties. i used the new check ball and re used the weight. but im havin a hard time keeping the motor running. it will run good for a few min then run like its out of time or missing.. possibly like its loading up...then it clears up for a few.. the dizzy, rotor, cap, plugs, wires are new. good spark. points are new and adjusted with a thick buisness card..carb kitted..new exaust gaskets new intake gaskets. new oil pump. new lifters. just laped in valves and had the head resurfaced. fresh battery. just replaced the voltage reg the day before it started running like crap.ive checked timing like a doz times.. my gut says its carb related... any insite will be awsome. thanks in advance.
