Oil cooler

Well after 21000 miles since purchase yesterday on the way home EOT began to rise and engine went into limp mode. Pulled over only to find a milk shake puking out of degas bottle. I know you guys have said this over and over, but here it goes. While I'm down into the motor, what would need to be done and where is the best place to buy the oil cooler and parts needed. Thanks

Well for starters what year is your truck? Here is the best place for parts, AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake Parts (previously Tousley Ford Parts) the best thing to do is go to Official Ford Parts Site | Buy Motorcraft & OEM Ford Parts Online | FordParts.com and create an account and select autonation whitebear lake ford as your parts store as you get better rates on shipping through the ford parts web site.

I see in your profile you have an 05' so at a bare minimum I would do the updated STC fitting and the blue spring update for the fuel pressure regulator. As far as the milkshake in the degas bottle you are going to need to do a flush with a degreaser after you install the new oil cooler and depending on where you are and if you have to pass emissions and tampering laws I would do a stealth EGR cooler delete by where you use stainless steel block off plates on the exhaust inlet and outlet ports on the EGR cooler.

Be careful with the stealth EGR delete, because it will throw a CEL which will also cause you to fail smog in states like Crapyfornia; unless you get a program that can disable that, and one whose programmer can be hidden well enough to fool any inspectors who do blindly follow the rules to a letter.

Well I was thinking I would need to flush the system and was wonder wether to do it before or after the install. I remember now reading about white bear. I forgot to mention I'm in Al. And already have egr delete, straight turbo back exhaust, SCT tuner, and running street tune since purchase. Not sure if I know about stc update maybe elaborate if you can on that.

You have to do the flush with the new oil cooler because the old oil cooler is leaking and will continue to force oil into the cooling system and you will never get it clean. The STC fitting is the fitting that connects the HPOP discharge to the branch tube that feeds HPO to the oil rails that operate your injectors, when this fitting completely fails you will have a no start and it can actually break/crack the rear engine cover that requires either the transmission or engine be removed to replace the rear cover.

Ok, I gotcha now, I'm on the automation web site now gathering up parts for the repair. I assume intake gaskets and turbo install kit, anything else?

STC kit
Turbo hardware
Fuel Pressure regulator
T-Stat

Shipping is dirt cheap if you do White Bear Autonation from the fordparts.com site.

Intake gaskets are re-useable, although if it has over 100k purchase new ones.

Also when you clean the parts the 2 sensors on the center part of
the oil cooler assembly don't like being dunked in cleaners.
They are the oil pressure and temp senders. You might want to just
replace them.

Egr delete, oil cooler, heat gaskets, arp studs, updated turbo drain, new orings and copper on the injector, intake gaskets, a good time to look at a new water pump as well since the factory impeller is plastic and could have broken. Might also get a new tstat

Know you prices and part numbers. Find out what you can get them at autonation and hunt around at times ebay auctions are a good place, forums, amazon etc. I personally would stay with factory everything except arp studs, a bullet proof diesel waterpump, and a egr delete. If you have the cash the bulletproof oil cooler is nice. I cant justify it personally but it is nice

one good thing about the bullet proof oil cooler is you will never get oil in your coolant again.. that's why I went with it...
