Frustration 2 The update
Rob offers to make up a tool for him while I walk over and look into the engine bay. " Hey, why don't you stick a pick into the holes that are drilled into the lifter bores ?"
" Oh yeah, that's how I did it". Oh boy. So he adjusts for the morning and does find several loose ones. So I spend the day putting everything back together. Too late for a test run so today is the day.
Fires up and...... sounds as noisy as the other day. Time to update them on my engine. Yup, not happy.
So he's back for noon today as he wants to hear for himself. Yup it is noisy but it is coming from the fuel pump area per his stethoscope. Off I go and get a spare fuel pump in my garage and we install it.
" Sounds quieter" he says. Not to me and my brother it don't. His advice is to put a new fuel pump on as my spare is leaking and run it. RIGHT !!
I think I'll get the flathead guy to come out for a listen and go from there. So that kills another week of driving and sorting out the bugs that will come up when I finally get on the road. That's your up date now where's that Crown Royal bottle??
