I am beginning to think finding an air pressure gauge for an air brake truck 53 thru 56 is impossible. I have found a couple but the guys would not take the gauge out and sell it to me.
They wanted to sell the whole truck, don't blame them. In both cases the truck did not sell and they scraped it, go figure. So anyone have or know were I can get one?
Thanks
Finding an original working accurate air pressure gauge may very well be impossible. This must be for a correct restoration, right? Otherwise, considering the millions of OTR trucks, buses with air brakes, a new replacement should be easy to obtain and easy to adapt. Good luck in your search.
Not sure if what ive got is what you need but i have an air pressure guage from an 1954 C850 big job truck
Not sure if it was air brakes or not.
All i got was the cab forward a couple years ago. I told the guy to not scrap it out until i could salvage a few parts of it, well i ended up having to buy the entire front half of the truck.
Anyway it had i think the 317 industrial engine with a big old compressor on it. I sold the complete engine but kinda wish i had kept the compressor.
The guage is approx 3" diameter mounting flange. 3&1/4 overall and say "Air Pressure" on bottom middle
And has numbers 0 ** 30** 60**90**120**150 stars inbetween the numbers going around. I can post sime pictures tommorrow late when i get in front of a computer, cant seem to get them to work on my phone if this sounds like what you need?

No, not really looking to sell it, i saved everything i could from the truck and have no use for the guage, just thought it looked cool and figured somebody could use it someday. Well i guess its someday.
So send me an email with your addresse and ill send it to you.
It is for a restoration and the 53 throu 55 has a different face then does the 56. The unit is however the same and I can have the face redone.
B6TZ-2557-A .. Air Pressure Gauge-1953/56 / This 1956 gauge replaced the 1953/55 gauge, but I couldn't find the original part number.
I couldn't find any NOS, but joblotauto.com and classicautopartsinc.com (formerly Ford Parts Obsolete of OKC) are not listed on the two obsolete parts locator sites (PartsVoice.com & rearcounter.com).

I had one sitting on my work bench for a couple years. Then I realized I couldn't find anything to fill the hole it left in the dash. I made a clock out of it.
here is a picture of the guage, now enroute to its new owner. It seems like I had seen another one of these gauges somewhere and recall making a comment to my friend that I had one sitting on the bench at home, can't remember where I saw it though...
