Left Front Wheel Noise
I started getting a squealing type noise from the front left wheel today on the way to work. Seems to be when I turn to the right and applying the brake makes no difference in the amount or type of noise. Noticed it would also make the noise on occasion while going straight but very often or long. It's not very loud but it is noticeable.
About a month ago I started to occasionally feeling a bump or knock when doing parking lot maneuvers but it was only occasionally. Thought is was a loose caliper or bracket but that wasn't it.
Could it be the wheel bearings? I replaced the hubs about 40,000 ago but they never made noise like this. Ball joints and stuff were replaces about 35k ago.
Suggestions????
It almost sounds like birds and as if I had dirt kicked up between the pads and rotor but braking does not alter the sound.
Was thinking that when the truck had 30k on it, one of the brake pads hung up and cocked in the caliper. one edge was like new where the opposite edge was down to metal. Might be the culprit here.
We carry hub bearings, and quite a few other repair parts for that truck on our website if you fine that the hub bearing assembly is bad, or that it's an issue with the brakes.
