So, I just bought a 87 F150 with just under 400k miles. It doesn't run (don't worry, I only paid $400), but I'm looking to get it running ASAP. It's been sitting 6 months, so I'm looking to the battery as part of the issue. What I know:
*302 windsor V8, C6 trans, 2WD, 400k miles
*sitting 6 months
*did not run when parked
*battery is dead
*will start and run about 5 seconds with jump and starting fluid
*all of the fuel pumps run (meaning I heard them making a buzzing sound), i don't know if they're generating pressure
*it is getting spark because it will run with starting fluid
I'm thinking a clog in the line or bad gas. 27 y/o fuel filter & strainer to blame? or maybe just sat to long with old gas that wont let it start
all help appreciated! I'll answer questions to the best of my ability!
