Oil Cooler Replacement
Well I think I'm finally down to the last piece of faulty equipment that needs to be replaced on my truck. I just wanted a little advice before I start this journey of replacing the oil cooler.
My truck is an '05 6.0l with the following already done.
EGR Delete
New STC fitting, Dummy plugs, Stand Pipes, HPOP
Blue Spring Upgrade
ARP Head Studs
AFE Intake
CFM+ Intake Manifold
While I'm tearing into this what should I replace with the oil cooler?
So far this is what I'm thinking/have been told
3C3Z-6A642-CA - Oil Cooler Kit
6C3Z-9448-A - Exhaust Manifold Gasket
From what I can tell the kit comes with the screen, but does anyone know for sure?
Should I do a coolant flush before or after I swap the cooler? I've read both, but haven't seen a definitive answer...or does it even matter when I do it?
Also any advice or little tricks that will make this a smoother process?
Thank you
You are probably better to flush prior to replacing the oil cooler and run it for a couple thousand miles after to insure you don't just plug the new cooler.
Unfortunately the cooler is leaking which is why I'm replacing it, so the driving it prior to replacing it probably isn't my best option. I guess I should have added that to the original post
