I've been noticing my drivers door has been progressively getting harder to shut. After comparing the left and right door gaps I can see the door is sagging a little in the rear. How do I correct this?
Rebuild the door hinges. The upper one will be worse than the lower but I'd do 'em both. DC has them.B9A5943030A...pin...$3.00 ea.C3AZ5422841B...bushing...$1.50 ea.
You can replace hinges. But there is a Toothless Jake fix that goes like this:
Undo the bottom hinge until there is daylight between it and the pillar. Cut a shim and slide it behind and torque it all up. The idea is to lift the strike point to compensate for wear.
You may need a grandson to do some geometry to figure out the thickness of the shim or stack of washers.
Thanks. I'll order enough for 4 doors. That way I'll be ready when the other three doors start this.

I got the pins & bushing replaced. That didn't fix all the clearance so I adjusted the top hinge at the door and now I have a nice even door gap and the body lines line up. My door was making contact with the cab at the rear of the door. Not any more. Thanks for the help.
If you find that your now getting a lot of wind noises try using a sheet of printer paper or note book paper. Now place the sheet between door & cab seal then close door holding paper in place where you think the noise is. Leave window down so you can reach through and pull the paper or slide it a long the seal too find where the paper pulls easier in some areas then others. Wind/air noises are where paper has less drag while pulling it.
This does not necessarily mean your hinges are bad. The three screws that hold the door on in the hinge pocket of the door may have just loosened over the years gradually letting the door come out of place.
I can believe that. I've noticed this slowly happening over the past several months and the bushings were not completely worn out. I could tell a noticeable difference between the top and bottom hinge. The top was quite loose. They are both tight now. It also took little effort to loosen the hinges. I also replaced the broken check spring, that is nice not having the door close on you all the time.
