Duraspark 2 problems
It started when the truck just died on the freeway. It would not restart that night. A few days later it started up but died after a mile or so. And the problems continues.
I've had the module tested and replaced. The coil tested and changed to the E-Coil pack. It started but almost ran like timing was off but timing is good.
With the E-Coil I noticed it would start either way the wires were attached. Can these wires be backwards? It won't start either way now. I'm just wondering about the E-Coil wiring?
So what should I look for now? I don't really want to change the distributor, but magnetic pickup bad? Easy to replace?
What series of test should I go through?
I know there are some smart guys with these Duraspark systems. What takes me hours and nights to research you guys know in minutes.
I appreciate the help

Do you have a tach? Check it while you are cranking. It should jump to 200-300 rpm even if she does not start. That is a good indication that ignition is okay.
Electronics do not fail and come back to life.
Replace the fuel filter and check for pressure at the carb as Jeff has suggested.
You may have to go through basic troubleshooting.
