352

I have a 352 from a 1965 ford galaxy 500 XL, came with a 4bbl,dual exhuast does anyone know what kind of power these put out? and how much would an aftermarket aluminum intake, headers and a cam add to an FE? the motor has really low miles. oh yeah I think it is an X motor if that helps.

If it's got a 4 bbl, then it's not a 352. All FE blocks have a "352" cast into the left front of the block. What you have is either a 390 or a 427 ( most likely a 390 though, 427's are rare)

Well, from '64-'66 there was a X code 4V 352, 250 brake horsepower @ 4400 rpm, 352 gross torque @ 2800 rpm, 9.3:1 comp.

fb_80, you might very well have a 352. Some of them were in mid 60s cars witha 4 barrel carb. As for ALL FEs having a 352 cast in the block, where did that come from ? While it is true that lots of FEs do, some have a mirror '105' in the front, some have 427, some don't have anything cast in front. Are you going to put this engine into a truck ? The cast iron intake you have is very heavy (75lbs) and not the best breather. The iron exhaust probably sucks too. And the grandma cam isn't helping either. Adding 150 hp or more to this engine is really no problem, but the pieces you choose will be dictated by the usage the car will get. How much power do you want ? How much $$$ can you spend ? But before you consider any new goodies, you might want to think about getting hardened seats installed under your exhaust valves, so the engine will happily burn unleaded fuel. 'cause thats all we can get today. DF

I also have a 352 with the 4 bbl. It is sitting is a 67 Custom. I havn't measured the stroke but I'm sure it is a 352. The car and the air cleaner both have the 352 emblem. I plan on putting the engine in my 51 F1 next year after rebuild and the upgrades mentioned earlier (alum. intake, cam, etc)
