I'm looking to install modern seats into my 1970 Crew Cab. I want seats with headrest front & back. I've seen a couple on here with Dodge & Tahoe front and back seats that look nice. I just came from the junkyard where I looked at a 2003 F150 crew cab or supercrew I think they call it. Anyway I like the seats, the front is the 60/40 split bench. The rear is a 60/40 design that fold down. Has anyone ever adapted the front or rear seats from this body style into a bump or dent truck regular or crew cab?
Haven't really seen many pics of newer seats that your talking about in the crews everyone is in the building stage so no pics yet. I'll be doing the same thing using newer leather split bench seats in my crew but haven't picked any out yet. Drivetrain and suspension need finished first. Do you have any pics saved that have newer seats installed in our old trucks?
I don't prefer it but I want my girls to have headrest in the back in case someone rear ends me. I will have mild tint so it want be too noticeable. I know I can put a 1992-1996 front bench in the back but just looking for something a little nicer. The fold up or fold flat feature the these offer is nice as well. The 2003 Super Crew I looked had a nice folding rear seat. Here is a picture of one identical to the one in the local yard.
Not to thrilled on the first pic of those seats I'm with f100today with these old trucks and big bulky rear seat backs definitely don't go together. I like the Tahoe seats and dodge seats but only thing on the dodge seats are the sewn in emblems. Wat kind of leg room Is there in the front and rear with the Tahoe and dodge ones?
I don't know about leg room. The Tahoe seats look tight. The Dodge not so much. I'm trying to get in touch with the owners. The leg room in the 2003 SuperCrew is good, actually better than my '70 crew. But I'm going to have to take more measurements to see what I'd end up with. I think if I mount two from benches from a 90's truck I'd loose a little leg room because those seats are a few inches longer than my '70 bench. That got me to thinking about late model Crew cabs that had rear seats with headrest.

I picked these up at the junkyard. They are from a 2003 Lariat SuperCrew. Except for the tear in the driver's seat the leather is perfect. I found wiring schematics and it appears that all the electronics are contained in the seat. I checked and the control modules are in place. The truck had just came onto the yard. I plan to install the rear first in the next couple weeks. I'll post pics when I'm done.
