It's a 1980, not 89.

I really wish people would post their pictures right-side up, I don't understand how people expect us to to continuously turn our head sideways or sumthin' to try and read the dang thing. Lookin' this **** up is enough of a pain in the *** as it is, twisting the picture and making it harder on those of us who do this for people ain't real cool IMHO.

Looks like you have a 9" rear end 2.75:1 gear ratio and it's open not the limited slip carrier.

Transmission could be :1978/83: RUG SR-OD Single Rail 4 Speed O/D
Chris will tell you he thinks it is a Clark 4 speed overdrive
I also saw a reference that it might be a 3 spd standard transmission.

Here's the full scoop

VIN – F15 (F150 2WD regular cab), E (300 CID, 6 cylinder), P (Twin Cities assembly plant), JD4848 (sequential production number)

Along the bottom of the certification label…

1G – Silver Metallic
3D - Dark Blue Metallic

DSO – 53 – Kansas City district

F151 (2wd F150 reg cab truck)

DB4
D – Knit Vinyl bench seat
B – Blue
4 – Styleside pickup box

Transmission B – Clark Manual 4 speed overdrive

Axle 13 – 2.75 ratio Ford

I believe the F0111 and T0641 were original order references for the truck, someone else can probably confirm (or correct) this

1980 has an 11 digit VIN, 1981 thru today has a 17 digit VIN

Production date 5/80 / VIN: F15EPJD4848 / WB: 133 / TYPE-GVW: F151 / BODY: DB4 / TRANS: B / AXLE: 13 / EXTERIOR PAINT COLORS: 1G 3D / DSO: 53

5/80 = Assembled May 1980.

F15 = F150 2WD Regular Cab Pickup.

E = 4.9L (300) 1V I-6.

P = Twin Cities MN Assembly Plant.

JD4848 = 1980 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

133" Wheelbase.

F151 = F150 2WD Regular Cab Pickup, 5,450 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

DB4: DB = Blue all Vinyl - Full Width Seat / 4 = Regular Cab Styleside Pickup.

B = Ford (Clark) RUG SR-OD Single Rail 4 Speed Overdrive Manual Transmission.

13 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 2.75-1 / No Limited Slip / 3,750 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

1G = Silver Metallic / 3D = Dark Blue Metallic.

53 = Kansas City MO Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

Rather surprising that the truck was assembled in MN, since there's a Kansas City MO Assembly Plant.

F0111 & T0641 cannot be decoded.
