I'd be most interested in seeing a picture showing how the door handle mechanism works on a 1977 before I dive into it. The drivers door outside handle feels like it could quit any time while the inside handle feels perfect.
It dosen't release the door until the very top of its travel. Every time I open the door I expect it to not work.
Can anyone help out with a service manual drawing?
in the upper right-hand view, looks like the clip and bushing are mis-labeled.
arrow points to clip and it is called a bushing............not that it really matters but is the part number correct and the name wrong or are they reversed?
Well I guess it won't hurt to ask, you guys are so helpful. What is the first to wear out on the outer door lift mechanism. This handle has seen lots of wear. (360K)

That's not a Ford parts catalog illustration, it's a illustration from a Mitchell Manual or similar (body shop crash book).
Not Ford = descriptions of parts can/will be different.
Those are not full Ford part numbers, either.
They are only the basic Ford body part numbers.
