1986 ford f150
I have a 1986 ford f150 302 5.0L V8 EFI with an EGR delete that shuts off when driving down the road and also cuts out and lose power in the top end of 2nd and 3rd gear its a 4 speed manual. you can drive on snow and spin the tires and get after it and she also runs great high rpms in neutral but as soon as you put it on the road she will cut out and spit and sputter and hop and have no power. I've changed Bothe fuel pumps the filter fuel pressure regulator and the injectors. I've also changed the whole distributer and the cap rotter plugs and wires coil the throttle positing sensor, cleaned the throttle body fixed bad connecters. changing the ignition switch this weekend and then maybe the computer after that going to re wire the IGN system to switches and button start. need help been trying to make the truck run right since the engine was rebuilt if all ells failed I'm going to put a carb on it but I want to try every thing with the fuel injection first
any ideas would help its been to one shop and they cant figure it out and I've had it plugged in to the computer also a number of times.

Pull the codes from the computer and see what you get. You don't need a code reader. Here's how to do it.
