White smoke while accelerating

I have a 2007 F-350, recently I noticed it blows out white smoke while accelerating. I did some looking around on the forums to see if other ppl were having problems and I couldnt find anything. Is it serious or is it something I can fix later on down the road?

This is my first diesel so any tips would help

if the white smoke has a sweet smell and your engine oil is turning milky brown and if after letting the engine sit over night you slowly remove the engine oil drain pan but not fully remove it...at about 1 to 2 threads left water comes out before oil does and there are oil dropplets in your coolant and your cabin heat does not work THEN you have a blown head gasket. IF you do...THEN no, you can't continue to drive it with out risking the engine seizing on you due to a lack of lubrication.

Oh man. Alright I'll check it out. If it was a blown head gasket would I see oil on the valve covers?
